Matador Equipment is an American brand dedicated to creating exceptional travel gear that enables you to explore the world without limitations. Matador aims to fulfill this mission through innovation and design that challenges the status quo. Instead of simply improving existing products, Matador reimagines solutions from scratch. They start with a specific travel problem or need and use advanced technology, materials and production methods to achieve the best solution. Matador's journey began in California, where founder Chris Clearman developed the award-winning product, the Pocket Blanket™ - an ultra-light travel blanket that folds down to pocket size (now available in its 4th version). Matador has come a long way since then, but the concept behind their first product continues to influence everything they make today: developing simple, innovative products that allow for more flexible travel with fewer restrictions.
Today, Matador is based in Boulder, Colorado, and offers a wide range of travel gear. Many of Matador's products have won awards for their innovative designs and have been featured in media such as Backpacker, Outside, Popular Science, Carryology, Gearjunkie, and Packhacker.
